Presented for your consideration is this EARLY antique doll head. The larger sized doll head is made of paper mache and is a shoulder style head with two pre-drilled holes in each side of each shoulder to anchor the head onto a doll body. The facial features are very detailed and are painted on. Facial features include pursed peach lips, grey blue eyes and blond eyebrows. The head is completed with a painted blond curly hair wig. She wears an amber beaded necklace around her neck. On the interior of the doll there is a hallmark of a M inside of a square but unsure as to what maker this marking represents. Paint looks to be all original. Guaranteed to be old. Dates to the early 1800s. This hard to find doll head would make a great addition to any antique doll collection!
A small surface chip is on one cheek and some paint wear is on the face and neck. A small crack is in the front bottom edge, but would be covered by a body/clothing. General light age and use wear. Overall in VERY GOOD condition for its age. Please refer to the photos for the absolute best details.
Measures 5 1/2" wide, 4" deep and 6 1/2" tall.
